Work

Things I've built for real clients. More on the way — this is a fresh start.

Business site + Web tool

John King Books — Website & Subject Directory

I rebuilt the bookstore's website on Wix — it was a broken mess before — and built the subject directory that powers in-store search: look up any subject and get its floor, aisle, and room. The sites work together: the main site links straight into directory search and the FAQ, QR codes around the store point customers to the directory, and I manage the site's analytics.

Web tool

Book Junior — Book Scanner

A book lookup tool I built for the store — scan a barcode with your phone camera or search by title, author, or ISBN. It pulls book details from Open Library and Google Books.

Portfolio site

Julian Kane — Artist Portfolio

A complete portfolio site for Detroit artist Julian Kane — galleries across printmaking, oil, ink, portraits, and more. My most complete project for a client outside of John King Books. It comes with an admin page so Julian can add new pieces, upload photos, and reorder his galleries himself, no developer needed.

Internal tool

John King Books — Staff Hub

An internal hub for the bookstore's staff: employee roster with accounts and profiles, a shift board for posting open shifts and claiming extra hours, a store-wide chat, staff-only resource directories — paperbacks, antiques, and other internal sections customers never see — the staff handbooks I wrote (general handbook, 2nd floor guide, training materials, directory handbook), and the Paycheck Genie: staff enter their hours, pay and tax rates and it predicts their paychecks, so they can track their time and see what future checks look like if they pick up shifts.
